15 de julio 1939
El 15 de julio de 1939 fuerón fusilados por el fascio en Alicante los integrantes del Comité Revolucionario de Tibi, Fidel Bernabeu Cortés, labrador Nacido en 1885, Germán Verdú Pastor, también labrador de 34 años y Antonio García Sirvent, chofer de 36 años. De La Romana aparecieron por los jornaleros antifascistas Nicolás Sepulcro Pastor, de 41 años, Antonio Marhuenda Pastor, de 26, y Juan Pérez Alfonso, de 34. También jornalero de La Algueña, con 28 años, fué fusilado ese día Daniel Amoroso Amoroso.”
Ese mismo día fallece Eugen Bleuler, psiquiatra suizo que hizo notables contribuciones a la comprensión de las enfermedades mentales y acuñó en 1908 el término esquizofrenia para un trastorno al que previamente Emil Kraepelin había denominado demencia precoz. Fue el gran iniciador de la nueva psiquiatría del siglo XX, y un reformador del tratamiento de la locura, comparable a lo que, un siglo antes, representó Philippe Pinel. Había nacido un 30 de abril de 1857.
Así mismo Sir Percy de Scott Worthington (31 enero 1864 hasta 15 julio 1939) fue un arquitecto Inglés. Nació en Crumpsall, Manchester, el hijo mayor del arquitecto Thomas Worthington. Fue educado en la universidad de Clifton, Bristol y el Corpus Christi College, Oxford, donde se graduó en 1887, y obtuvo el título de arquitecto en 1890. Se convirtió en un socio de la firma de su padre al año siguiente. En sus primeros años que se interesó en el movimiento Arts and Crafts y esto se refleja en la Capilla Unitaria, Liverpool, que diseñó con su padre. A partir de 1904 participó de forma notable en el renacimiento del clasicismo. Fue galardonado con la medalla de oro del Instituto Real de Arquitectos Británicos en 1930 y fue nombrado caballero en 1935. Murió en su casa de Mobberley, Cheshire, en el año 1939.
